We in Man Mountain are all huge fans of music gear and effects pedals. Between our three pedalboards we have completely different pedals (which are always changing), but during the writing and recording process for Infinity Mirror there was one pedal that all of us used: The ProCo RAT. Originating in our home state of Michigan, the RAT was developed in 1978 in the basement of ProCo’s Kalamazoo facility, and went on to gain legendary status alongside other famous “dirt pedals” like the Ibanez Tube Screamer and the EHX Big Muff. Based around the LM308 op-amp IC, this pedal allows you to dial in anything from a lighter “amp-like” crunch, to a harmonically-rich distortion, to a massive wall of fuzz. It’s pretty much perfect for making the heavy parts of our songs sound as big as possible, and we wanted to share that perfection with you! This one-of-a-kind pedal was personally hand soldered and built with an unmatched level of care (and OCD) by our bassist David, and is a faithful recreation of the famous RAT, but with much higher quality components and true-bypass switching.One lucky winner will receive the following:
